Last week was another busy one for us all at Kirkshaws.\u00a0 Hallowe’en<\/strong><\/span> and Bonfire Night<\/span><\/strong> brought many opportunities for learning and also lots of excitement about activities going on at home.\u00a0 At Assembly on Friday it was most encouraging to hear so many of our pupils able and willing to share the safety messages they have been learning in class.\u00a0 \u00a0Thanks particularly to Room 16 and Room 1 who confidently told the whole school how to behave around fireworks.\u00a0 Well done!<\/p>\n

POPPIES<\/strong><\/span> went on sale last week.\u00a0 As indicated in an app message sent out through the week, many safety measures have been put in place to ensure we are adhering to all relevant COVID restrictions to avoid spreading infection.\u00a0 Class teachers will continue to sell Poppies in the coming days until our stock runs out.\u00a0 We hope to be able to tell you how much we have raised for the Scottish Poppy Appeal next week.\u00a0 Many thanks to Room 4 for sharing their paintings of Flanders Fields above.\u00a0 They are stunning!<\/p>\n

Please return any READING BOOKS<\/span><\/strong> you have at home.\u00a0 In some classes we are struggling to provide full sets of books as they are not coming back into school regularly.\u00a0 If you have any books lying around since last year, we’d love to see these too.\u00a0 They will be quarantined safely in school before being used again.\u00a0 The same applies to Infant STORY BAGS<\/strong> <\/span>or NURSERY GRADUATION GOWNS from last session<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 Please ask your child to hand any school resources into their teacher.<\/p>\n

As the pandemic continues we must not let down our guard around safety measures<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 In fact, some procedures have been tightened up in order to ensure all members of our school community are kept safe:<\/p>\n
