PARENT COUNCIL UPDATE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Our Parent Council will be holding their AGM on Monday 21st September.\u00a0 Due to the current restrictions around face-to-face meetings, this will be held online, using WebEx video conferencing.\u00a0 If you are interested in joining our PTA in any capacity, please contact me directly by email on gw09nicolsonalison2@glow.sch.uk this week and your details will be passed on to Cheryl Grant, Parent Council Chairperson.<\/p>\n

ROAD SAFETY<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who is supporting us in keeping our children safe as they travel to and from school.\u00a0 However, I must remind some drivers that our staff carpark must not be used<\/u> as a drop off zone or a turning spot.\u00a0<\/strong> As always, the Zigzag lines at the front of the school must be kept clear at all times.\u00a0 Please allow yourself a little extra time to park a short distance away and walk the last part of your journey.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SCHOOL RESOURCES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We are aware that some school resources were not returned to school before we closed last session.\u00a0 This was nobody’s fault, we just ran out of time!\u00a0 Please check to see if you have any school items lying around at home.\u00a0 If you do, we would appreciate you returning them with your child this week.\u00a0 This includes reading books <\/strong>(all stages)<\/span><\/span>, Story Sacks<\/strong><\/span> or Book Bags<\/strong><\/span> (P.2 & 3) and nursery graduation robes & hats<\/strong><\/span> (current Primary 1 pupils)… and anything else you think could belong in school!\u00a0 Thank you for your help with this.<\/p>\n

HOMEWORK<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

As a school, we made a conscious decision to ease children back to school gradually, with a major focus on wellbeing.\u00a0 We know you worked hard to continue home-learning throughout Lockdown and for that reason we wanted to give homework a break during the first few weeks back.\u00a0 However, we are going to reintroduce this next week.\u00a0 All classes will be issued with a 3-week homework plan on Monday 21st September, that will take us up to the October Week holiday.\u00a0 More details will be provided by your child’s class teacher.<\/p>\n

HOLIDAY REMINDER<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Please make sure you have the September holidays in your diary!<\/p>\n

In-Service Day – Thursday 24th September (school and nursery closed to all pupils)<\/strong><\/p>\n
