Another busy week behind us, with challenges and problems faced…but team work and solutions found!<\/p>\n
We are continually looking to develop our Core Values of Respect<\/span>, Friendship<\/span>, Trust<\/span>, Honesty<\/span> and Resilience<\/span> in school.\u00a0 Of these, Resilience is probably one of the hardest to ‘teach’.\u00a0 In Kirkshaws we do not expect everyone to get everything right first time.\u00a0 As our wall display says:\u00a0 Mistakes in our school are EXPECTED, RESPECTED, INSPECTED and CORRECTED.\u00a0 And that is how resilience is built over time.\u00a0 We do not expect people to put up with situations that are impossible, but through a supportive environment we will demonstrate to our young people how to persevere and overcome a challenge.\u00a0 As we move through the new session I am delighted at how this quality is being developed in class and around school.\u00a0 It was a pleasure to give out Values certificates on Friday, including those for Resilience.<\/p>\n At home please keep this in mind as you tackle homework tasks together.\u00a0 Don’t panic over mistakes – that’s how we learn.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Another busy week behind us, with challenges and problems faced…but team work and solutions found!
