We’ve been learning a new song in school over the past week.\u00a0 It’s called the SHANARRI song.\u00a0 It goes like this:<\/p>\n
Hello sunshine. Hello blue sky<\/span><\/p>\n S-H-A-N-A-R-R-I<\/span><\/p>\n We\u2019re safe and we\u2019re healthy and achieving<\/span><\/p>\n We\u2019re nurtured and we\u2019re active every day<\/span><\/p>\n Respected you can see. Responsible are we<\/span><\/p>\n When everyone\u2019s included we can be happy!<\/span><\/p>\n Looking back at the past week, I can see that we are not only singing these words, we are actually LIVING the lyrics! Take a moment to look at the photos of our adventures this week and you will see examples of each one of these Wellbeing Indicators running through each of our days at school or nursery.<\/span><\/p>\n We have certainly been demonstrating healthy lifestyles and a desire to be active over the past few weeks with our commitment to the Big Pedal.\u00a0 Hopefully this will have encouraged some of our learners to continue with healthy journeys to school.\u00a0 Fingers crossed the weather will remain favourable over coming weeks to allow this to continue.<\/p>\n However, there is more going on behind the scenes that may not be obvious to the wider Kirkshaws community.\u00a0 We have pupils opting to take on more responsibilities on a regular basis: in a few weeks a new lunchtime book club is starting, run entirely by a group of our senior pupils; the Eco Committee are currently organising a plant growing competition; the Playground Committee continue to meet once every two weeks to discuss playground issues and iron out any problems that may be cropping up; monitors and playground buddies volunteer to support younger learners EVERY day; the RRSA Steering Group are preparing to run a whole school assembly in a few weeks.<\/p>\n Can I also take this opportunity to thank you all for your generous donations this week.\u00a0 We were delighted at the response to both our Fundraisers’ Afternoon Tea and the donation to Sustrans today.\u00a0 Your generosity is much appreciated.<\/p>\n As we launch into our long weekend, why not ask your child to teach you the song…I guarantee you will LOVE IT!\u00a0 All together now…<\/p>\n Hello sunshine.
