If your child attends Kirkshaws Primary School or Nursery Class, you are a member of our Parent Forum.\u00a0 As such, you are invited to attend our Parent Council Meetings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently we hold virtual meetings using the WebEx platform.\u00a0 Meetings start at 7.00pm and usually last around an hour.\u00a0 If you would like to attend, please ask a member of the Parent Council or staff at the school office and they will arrange for you to receive an email invitation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our next meeting is scheduled for the Monday 9 September, 2024.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Parent Council is composed of parents, staff, and co-opted members with the Head Teacher as adviser. \u00a0They have rights, duties and responsibilities in relation to the Management of the school.<\/p>\n

CURRENT PRIORITIES<\/span><\/div>\n
This session there has been a focus on re-building a sense of community post-COVID and fundraising.\u00a0 New priorities will be established in the new school school session.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

All members of the Council are selected for a period of three years, after which they may put themselves forward for re-selection if they wish. \u00a0All parents of children at the school can take part in the selection. \u00a0Any parent of a child at the school can volunteer to be a member of the Parent Council. \u00a0In the event that the number of volunteers exceeds the number of vacant places on the Council, members will be selected by voting. \u00a0Anyone not selected may be offered the opportunity to be part of any sub-groups set up by the Parent Council and can attend Parent Council meetings but would not hold a vote in any decisions to be made.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
