A vegetarian option is always available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school operates a <strong>cashless catering system<\/strong>. Parents and carers can pay for meals through the <strong>North Lanarkshire Council Parents&#8217; Portal<\/strong>. Current menus and up-to-date meal information can be found on the North Lanarkshire Council website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children who bring a packed lunch eat in the dining hall alongside their friends and are supervised by school staff. When the weather is good, pupils may also enjoy eating their packed lunches outdoors in our garden area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage all children to enjoy a healthy, balanced lunch and see lunchtime as an important opportunity to socialise, develop independence and contribute positively to the life of the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special Dietary Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We are committed to meeting the dietary needs of all pupils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children who require a special diet for medical reasons, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Food allergies or intolerances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coeliac disease<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diabetes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PKU (Phenylketonuria)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>can be catered for by our school catering service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A special diet request form must be completed and signed by an appropriate healthcare professional, such as a doctor, dietitian or, where appropriate, a Speech and Language Therapist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Texture-modified diets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vegan diets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cultural and religious dietary requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If your child has any dietary requirements, please contact the school and we will be happy to guide you through the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Free School Meals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All children in <strong>Primary 1 to Primary 5<\/strong> are entitled to a free school meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional support is available for eligible families, and applications for free school meals and clothing grants can be made through North Lanarkshire Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further information is available on the council website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Packed Lunches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To promote healthy eating, we ask that packed lunches contain nutritious food and drinks. In line with school and local authority guidance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fizzy drinks should not be brought to school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Products containing nuts must not be brought onto school grounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reusable water bottles are encouraged.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthy packed lunch ideas and further advice are available from North Lanarkshire Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions about school meals, packed lunches or dietary requirements, please contact the school office.
