Through learning about people, places, history and communities, children develop a greater understanding of life in Scotland and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children explore topics linked to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>History<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geography<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People, society and culture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The local community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Global issues and citizenship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through Social Studies, children learn to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>understand how people and places have changed over time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>explore local, national and global communities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop research and enquiry skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>think critically about the information they find<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>understand different cultures, beliefs and viewpoints<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>become informed and responsible citizens<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At Kildrum Primary School, children learn through discussion, investigation, research and practical experiences.
