Technology plays an important part in children’s everyday lives and future careers. At Kildrum Primary School, we help children develop the skills and confidence they need to use technology safely, creatively and effectively.
Through learning in Technologies, children have opportunities to:
- use digital technology confidently and responsibly
- develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- design, create and evaluate solutions to real-life challenges
- build creativity, innovation and enterprise skills
- learn about engineering, design and construction
- understand how technology impacts our lives and society
- develop skills for learning, life and work
Technology learning at Kildrum goes far beyond using computers. Children take part in a wide range of practical and engaging experiences, including:
- Digital learning and computing
- Coding and problem-solving activities
- Design and construction challenges
- Food and health activities
- STEM projects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
- Interdisciplinary learning linked to real-world contexts
We are fortunate to have excellent digital resources throughout the school. All classrooms are equipped with interactive panels, and pupils have access to tablets, laptops and desktop computers to support their learning across the curriculum.
By developing digital skills, creativity and technological thinking, we aim to prepare children for the opportunities and challenges of an ever-changing world and help them become confident, responsible digital citizens.
