As you will be aware, our online learning journals are going live from Monday. Parents will be able access their child’s journal through the login details provided any time from then onwards.

Observations of your child’s learning will be tracked on their learning journal and can be viewed by you at any time using your secure login details. You will receive an email notification when an observation has been added.

We would encourage parents/carers to comment on their child’s learning on the journal. There is also a place for you to add in any learning experiences that your child partakes in at home with the options to add photographs as well.

**Unfortunately there is a glitch in the system/server this week with any Hotmail email addresses. The team are working on this with Microsoft and hope to have a resolution for us this week. **

We hope you enjoy viewing your child’s learning in nursery in a more interactive way and welcome any feedback you can give us.

The initiative was developed by North Lanarkshire Council to promote partnership working and highlight how easy it can be for parents and carers to help support and develop literacy and numeracy skills in young children by turning everyday tasks e.g doing the laundry or going shopping into fun learning experiences.

We have created a ‘Growing Together Learning Forever’ wall within our nursery playroom. We will display an experience/routine that you will all undoubtedly participate in at home on a daily or weekly basis along with activity ideas and some ‘think about’ or ‘chat about’ prompts.
Participating in these activities and using the prompts to engage in conversation and discussion will capture your child’s imagination, encourage your child’s literacy and numeracy development.
With just a little time to make the most of the rich learning opportunities available in ordinary routines and with no costly materials needed, you can support your child to learn through the world around them. Copies of all activities will be made available for you to help yourself to along with any other resources that we think might enhance this experience.

A free nasal spray flu vaccine is available this Autumn/Winter and is available to all children in the nursery.
***If you would like your child to receive this vaccine an appointment should be made at your local doctors surgery.***                                      Posters are located in the nursery cloakroom-

The photographer will be visiting the nursery for individual photographs on Wednesday the 21st of September. It is entirely up to yourself as to what you would like your child to wear for the photograph.

In nursery we have been enjoying playing in the pizza shop. We have been taking on the role as chef and creating our own pizza with a variety of pretend toppings to choose from.

Today in nursery we had a fantastic day making real pizzas for snack. Each child had the opportunity to try all our toppings before choosing what pizza they would like to make. This included cheese, ham, pepperoni and salami.

First we had to wash our hands-

We have to wash our hand because we might get germs in our tummy.- Karlie

If you don’t wash your hands the germs go on your food. -Lucy

We put cheese on it.  I had to take the pizza to the school, my big sister’s school. The ladies cooked the pizza for the boys and girls. – Karlie

Ham, pepperoni, tomato sauce, cheese- you have to put toppings everywhere. The school oven cooked it, then we eat it. It was yummy and tasty. – Isla

I love everything and its delicious, pizzas my favourite thing to eat. – Harrison

Sauce and cheese on my pizza, it went in the oven. You slice the pizza so you can eat it. It was good. –Carsen
