My View on Brexit

I am not a bad person. Despite what Leftist politicians might say about me I am not an evil person for wanting Britain to leave the European Union, my desire to be independent of Brussels comes from a pure place. The Union is in chaos, with Greece in crippling debt and MEP’S voting to increase restrictions of freedom of speech while gorging on the expenses gravy train.

It’s safe to say this isn’t the “prosperous union” it was designed to be. Now don’t get me wrong we benefit from getting different skilled workers from the continent, however for every skilled labourer there are two or three unskilled people that come and contribute nothing to the economy and it is those people that I believe must leave. think of it like a workplace , if you work hard you the reap the benefits of it , but if you come into work and do no work and still expect a pay check then you’d be sacked quite quickly, And I believe this should be the case with European Nationals coming in to the UK.

The other major factor that is driving me now more than ever to see the UK leave is Article 13. This article is the worst form of restrictions on freedom of expression and speech to come out of Europe since the nineties. The ability to claim anything on the internet and try and use the “copyright” card. There is something disturbingly Orwellian about it, with the European parliament’s newfound powers it can actively restrict free speech at will and in an age where everyone has an opinion, that is a very scary prospect.

With regards to the refugee crisis, I am more open minded. I don’t think that all Muslims coming over are coming to bring an end to western civilization unlike some of my peers but with the sheer volume of them coming it makes it rather easy for terrorists to infiltrate the country and carry out attacks under the guise of being “refugees” and until we can be 100% that the threat of terror attacks is neutralized  then I’m sorry we need to stop taking in people from that region until we can be sure that it won’t put British lives at risk.

In closing it’s my belief that although there are some benefits to staying in the union, unfortunately the cons to staying outweigh any potential good that would come. Whether it’s the rampant restrictions on freedom of speech or the forced unification of foreign cultures it’s safe to say it’s no longer better together, it’s more like better to get out.
