Victoria Park Party 2018: The Saint Aidan’s Elf Service

An annual highlight of the school year has once again been a tremendous success. Every year, Sixth year students take on the huge task of providing a fabulous Christmas party experience for the children of the Victoria Park School in Carluke.

This year over one hundred sixth year students and staff visited Victoria Park. The sixth year students immersed themselves in the festive experience by dressing as Christmas Elves. However, instead of the children coming to St Aidans, the Sixth years made the trip to Carluke, taking a great pile of presents for the children and creating a great party atmosphere before they even left Saint Aidan’s.

Things reached a peak when Santa made a special appearance to distribute the gifts. Here’s a secret though, did you know that Santa is a sixth year student in Saint Aidan’s? Well Christian Cullen, one of our amazing sixth years was for this special day!

The fabulous day was the climax of a long period of planning, organisation and fundraising by the sixth year students. They have organised and supported events such as diverse Hallowe’en discos, coffee mornings and handmade Christmas gift sales.

All their efforts resulted in hundreds of pounds being raised to fund the party. The real commitment of the students over the whole process of planning such an ambitious event and their enthusiasm for making it such of success on the day was clearly rewarded by the smiles on the faces of everyone who took part.

Mrs Emma Large, Principal Teacher of Guidance for sixth year and chief elf for the day had a great time and spoke warmly about the experience,

“I could not be more proud of our sixth year pupils who worked tirelessly to make the Victoria Park Party the best one ever. A special thanks to the committee who organised and fund-raised to make it such a great success.”

  1. Thanks for that Christopher. I can always rely on you for er… technical support. 😉
A huge well done to all the JMAC team for being involved in this highlight of the school year and bringing back the pictures and facts and interviews that made the story possible.
