“The Bravest Rescue” Premiere

Jack gave an excellent performance as starring character Willie Angus

We got the opportunity to cover the glittering premiere of “The Bravest Rescue” a project honouring not only the centenary of the Armistice AND the year of young people, but also the brave actions of local hero Willie Angus. The film covered Angus’s journey to his brave rescue of fellow Carluke man James Martin. The Cast and crew (mainly pupils) did an excellent job giving an astounding performance.

Emotive monologues led to tears in many of the Audiences eye.

A night of musical performances, heart wrenching  poetry and the emotional Film led to a thoroughly excellent evening, well rounded off by the powerful last post and two minute silence. Sprinkled by a healthy dose of Scottish heritage in the forms of Bagpipes and Drums

The Green Fields Of France, performed by cast and crew

Speaking to one of the young actors Luke Stevenson he commented about well connected we were” and that there no boundaries from different high schools you weren’t a pupil of a particular school but part of the project, really something special”
