On the 11th of September, St Aidan’s High School hosted an awards night to celebrate the achievements of their young people. The night was filled with laughs, proud parents, lots of reminiscing and of course, highlighted the fantastic activities the pupils have been engaged within school and in their local area.
The schools Senior Band created a great atmosphere, preforming songs we all know and love. The swing band blasted out a dynamic performance of Motown classic “Superstition”. As each student took the stage to claim their reward, their parents and teachers were beaming with pride. Mrs Connelly, head teacher commented “It was a great way to make the pupils feel recognised and appreciated for all their hard work and effort they have put into their school work and their community”.
To close the Ceremony the Headmistress Mrs Connolly took to the stage again to express how proud she is of her students. She gave her thanks to the parents and teachers for always supporting the young adults and making their time through the school as enjoyable as possible. As a finale the school band picked up their instruments one last time to perform their version of “Island Of Iona”. They encouraged the audience to join in and everyone added their voice to really raise the rafters.
Overall, the ceremony was a large success which wouldn’t have been possible without all the dedication that was put in by the staff and pupils at St Aidan’s high.
