Bishop Toal Interview
S6 Journalists Christopher Quigley and Reece Larkins came up with some excellent questions for.
They asked Bishop Toal what his favorite dioceses that he has been a part of was. He said that even though he spend most of his life in the argyle and the isles and he is more familiar with that dioceses, he cannot decide on which one he prefers.
He also told us that he has been a bishop for 9 years and his anniversary will be on the 8th of December. He was a priest for “A very long time before that.” Bishop Toal told the journalists that being a bishop was very demanding.
He added “I think just trying to look after all the different aspects of the church life that you have to be responsible for. You have the responsibility of caring for the priests, the responsibility for the welfare of the parishes. The bishop wears the pectoral cross, which is from the Latin word “pectus” which means heart. So the bishop wears the cross next to his heart so that he is carrying Christ in is heart and offering Christ to the people.”
Well done Reece and David. 🙂
