Welcome to a brand new school year here at St Bartholomew’s! I hope you all had an enjoyable and relaxing summer and managed to take advantage of the glorious sunshine that came our way back in July.

A HUGE hello and a VERY warm welcome to our new Nursery children and Primary 1 pupils. We’re delighted to see you and hope you have a great first day!

As many of you will know, St Bartholomew’s is in the process of being rewired. This is a major undertaking and will take several months to complete. The nursery was finished during the course of the summer holidays and work has now begun on the Primary 2 and 3 classrooms. This means that these two classes will start the first fortnight of the school year in temporary classrooms set up in the music room and library. P1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 will be decanted as work progresses through the building.

As you’ll see next time you’re in the school building, we have started the year with no ceilings in the corridors and offices. However, work is due to begin on these areas in two or three weeks time. Despite the disruption and inconvenience, the completed nursery has given us a glimpse of what the finished result will look like: modern new ceilings, automatic lights and plenty of sockets! It will definitely be worth it in the end! Thank you for your patience during the work.
