To support young people while schools are closed, teaching staff are issuing tasks on a regular basis through Show My Homework and resources are made available on Glow. All pupils should have one e-mail address and password which grants them access to both Show My Homework and Glow.
Once they sign in to their Glow Launchpad, pupils are given a direct link to the Show My Homework website, can access departmental resources and even download the full Microsoft Office package for free. Their Glow Launchpad can now be accessed on a range of devices, including phones, computers, tablets and many games consoles. Click here to find out more about how to access Glow or request a password reset.
Parents are also entitled to log-in details for Show My Homework, designed to help you monitor your young person’s homework tasks and provide support when needed. If you’ve forgotten your log-in details or would like to request them for the first time, please fill out the online form here.
To provide extra help, we have also put together a wealth of free online resources that can be used by anyone, with or without access to Glow. Resources for all subject areas can be found on our Online Resources page.
Supporting your Young Person
Coping with lockdown measures and learning from home can be very challenging for ourselves and our young people. To help support them at this time, you can:
- Try to ensure they have access to the internet and a safe, calm study space to complete their home learning
- Offer support to them in completing their home learning tasks when you can, even when you’re not very confident in that subject area
- Encourage them to talk about how they’re feeling
- Have a go at some of our recommended health and wellbeing activities
- Keep in touch with us, particularly through your young person’s Pupil Support teacher
If you and your family are in need of help, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us through your young person’s Pupil Support teacher or by e-mailing Ms McKillop at email@example.com.
We’re here to support you in whatever way we can.
