This dress code must not lead to direct or indirect discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, gender or disability.<\/p>\n<p>In Holytown Primary, the wearing of school uniform is expected and actively encouraged.<\/p>\n<p>Except for the school fleece and blazer, we would encourage parents\/carers to buy unbranded supermarket jumpers, cardigans and polo shirts. These can easily be passed on to family members and sent to charity shops when your child has grown out of them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Holytown Primary School Uniform:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/auchinloch\/files\/2015\/06\/IMG_5107.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>White shirt or blouse<\/p>\n<p>White polo shirt<\/p>\n<p>Navy sweatshirt or cardigan<\/p>\n<p>Navy pullover, cardigan or tank top<\/p>\n<p>Navy trousers, skirt, pinafore or short trousers<\/p>\n<p>School tie (gifted to all P1s and replacements can be bought through the school office)<\/p>\n<p>Navy tights<\/p>\n<p>Navy or white socks<\/p>\n<p>school shoes or trainers (Please ensure shoes are fitted to your child\u2019s feet with Velcro, laces or buckles and will not slip off when running and playing)<\/p>\n<p>Trainers for PE<\/p>\n<p>Navy school blazer<\/p>\n<p>Navy fleece (can be bought through the school office for \u00a310 or free as part of our annual fleece exchange)<\/p>\n<p>Blue and white checked summer dress<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PE Kit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>White polo shirt with or without school logo<\/p>\n<p>Navy shorts<\/p>\n<p>Navy leggings or jogging bottoms (small or no logo)<\/p>\n<p>Trainers<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The wearing of the school uniform helps to create an identity with the school and can also be useful in matters of safety and security.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALL ARTICLES OF CLOTHING AND PROPERTY SHOULD BE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH THE CHILD\u2019S NAME.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Holytown Primary branded school uniform can be bought from<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.border-embroideries.co.uk\/schools\/holytown-primary-school.html?p=1\">https:\/\/www.border-embroideries.co.uk\/schools\/holytown-primary-school.html?p=1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Suitable clothing for PE Lessons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Children can come to school dressed in their PE kit on PE days. Please ensure your child has appropriate weatherproof clothing with them on PE days as many PE lessons take place outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>On any occasion, if you consider it unwise for your child to take part in PE, please let a member of staff know by email, phone call or speaking to the head teacher at the gate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For safety reasons\u00a0<strong><u>all jewellery must be removed<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0for PE lessons and where possible not worn on PE days.<\/p>\n<p>If a child regularly forgets the necessary clothing and footwear for PE, you will be contacted to ensure you are aware of this situation and you will be asked to assist in reminding your child in bringing\/wearing their PE on the appropriate days.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Clothing which is unacceptable in school under any circumstances includes items which:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>could potentially encourage factions (e.g. football colours)<\/li>\n<li>could cause offence (e.g. anti-religious symbolism or political slogans)<\/li>\n<li>could cause health and safety difficulties such as loose fitting clothing, dangling earrings, and other potentially dangerous jewellery \u2013 please note there is a requirement that\u00a0<strong><u>all<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0jewellery is removed prior to undertaking physical education activities<\/li>\n<li>are of flammable materials which may be a danger in certain classes (e.g. shell suits)<\/li>\n<li>could cause damage to flooring<\/li>\n<li>carry advertising in particular for alcohol or tobacco and<\/li>\n<li>could be used to inflict injury to other pupils or to be used by others to do so.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uniform All North Lanarkshire schools must have a dress code which encourages pupils to dress in a way which is appropriate to attendance at school.
