Primary 2 – Information Handling

Room 3 are currently revising the months of the year, days of the week and the seasons.  The children created a class birthday graph as part of our interactive Maths display.  They also completed an individual bar graph showing the results.  We discovered that nobody has a birthday in August and that the Summer and Autumn months have the most birthdays.
I have explored a variety of ways in which data is presented and can ask and answer questions about the information it contains.  MNU 1 – 20a
I have used a range of ways to collect information and can sort it in a logical, organised and imaginative way using my own and others’ criteria.  MNU 1 – 20b

Primary 2 – Phonics

Room 3 have been learning how to spell ‘sh’ and ‘ch’ words this week.  They do lots of active learning with their partners to help them learn their words.
I can spell the most commonly used words, using my knowledge of letter patterns and spelling rules and use resources to help me spell tricky or unfamiliar words.  LIT 1 – 21a

Primary 2 – Show and Tell – Our Favourite Things

The children in Primary 2 brought in three special items each to talk about during Show and Tell.
Tools for Listening and Talking – to help me when interacting or presenting within and beyond my place of learning.

When I engage with others, I know when and how to listen, when to talk, how much to say, when to ask questions and how to respond with respect.  LIT 1 – 02a
