Rooms 11 and 12 are taking part in the Edina Trust Bulb Project in conjunction with the National Museum of Wales. Through a bulb planting project they will investigate the effects of global warming and its effects on British wildlife. They held a planting afternoon this week when each child planted their own daffodil and crocus bulb. They also planted 20 daffodil bulbs in a planter outside and 5 mystery bulbs. The children will monitor the progress of these bulbs over the coming months.
In this time the children will also be required to take daily weather readings, recording temperature and rainfall. These readings will be logged with the trust every week.

Room 1 have been learning about the Highland Games in our Nessie topic. We listened to pipe bands on the internet and learned about traditional games, such as tug of war, throwing the hammer and tossing the caber. We made colourful posters to advertise our own ‘Highland Games’.

Elle brought in a picture that could have been made in Egypt thousands of years ago. We were all very delighted and grateful to Elle for allowing us to look at it.
