Scottish Parliament Outreach

Primary Seven boys and girls enjoyed a visit from a Scottish Parliament Education Officer. They learned all about the history of the Scottish Parliament, how MSPs are elected and experienced preparing a manifesto and taking part in a debate.

Our 3 class winners of the Parliament quiz. Well done!

MSP Visit

Primary Seven were visited this week by Mr. Michael McMahon, our constituency MSP for Uddingston and Bellshill.  He answered questions about Scottish Politics, the role and daily life of an MSP and his personal route into politics.  The children enjoyed the visit and are looking forward to our class trip to The Scottish Parliament at Holyrood at the end of the month.

They tried lots of different types of food from ricecakes to popcorn. They liked the sweet strawberries and marshmallows the best but did not like the sour lemon!

Walk to School Week

The children in Room 7 participated in a number of different challenges as part of our ‘Walk to School Week’. The children identified lots of different flowers (and weeds!), we walked the playground and had fun in the gym hall with Room 5.  Have a look at some of the amazing photographs of the plants we found in the school garden, taken by our class photographer Anais.
