We<\/span>lcome back to primary 2\/3<\/span>\u00a0and our first Reflective Friday post.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I hope that all the children\u00a0<\/span>are delighted to be bac<\/span>k with their<\/span>\u00a0sch<\/span>ool family after lockdown<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>The boys and girls have settled in really well and have been w<\/span>orking hard to adjust to the<\/span>\u00a0one way system and the play and learning zones. We have had a huge focus on Health and Wellbeing and the children have learned all about keeping themselves and others safe through increased hand washing, sanitizing and social distancing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This will be\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>very busy term for Primary 2\/3<\/span>\u00a0but the children have shown they are ready and willing to learn. I<\/span>n Math\u2019s and Numeracy we have been\u00a0<\/span>focusi<\/span>ng on developing their<\/span>\u00a0mental agility,<\/span>\u00a0counting forwards and backwards in 1\u2019s,2\u2019s,5\u2019s and 10\u2019s.\u00a0 They have been exploring up\u00a0<\/span>to<\/span>\u00a03 digit numbers and will go on to apply this to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division<\/span>. I hope you will continue to support your children by encouraging\u00a0<\/span>and supporting\u00a0<\/span>them\u00a0<\/span>with homework tas<\/span>ks which will always\u00a0<\/span>reinforce\u00a0<\/span>their learning in class<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Literacy<\/span>\u00a0the pupils will continue to develop\u00a0<\/span>their\u00a0<\/span>skills in reading, writing, listening and talking,<\/span>\u00a0and are progressing\u00a0<\/span>well\u00a0<\/span>through<\/span>\u00a0the core<\/span>\u00a0programmes<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0These last few weeks we have been revising and consolidating<\/span>\u00a0phonemes and spelling\u00a0<\/span>taught\u00a0<\/span>to date.\u00a0<\/span>To further support your child at home, p<\/span>lease encourage them to read aloud\u00a0<\/span>every night and to\u00a0<\/span>discuss what they are reading as this will be beneficial to their understanding of the book.\u00a0<\/span>Please also practise weekly taught phonemes and spelling words as this will really help your child in their class work. Children have been issued with a homework jotter and should take opportunities to develop handwriting skills by completing any written tasks here.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We take every opportunity to get outdoors, and participate in the Daily Mile<\/span>. In addition to this the children\u00a0<\/span>have been developing their communication skills and physical fitness through participation in a variety of outdoor and indoor activities and really enjoy this.\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
