Welcome to our Holy Family Primary transition page which we have created especially for our new children who are coming to join our fantastic school in August 2020.

We know you are going to enjoy being part of our learning community. Although we can’t meet you in person as we normally would we are going to post new information for you here each week on Transition Tuesdays so that you can get to know us better over the coming months.

Have fun and welcome to our very special family. We live on Hope Street, can there be any more beautiful an address for a school to have ?

Mrs Wilson and all the team at Holy Family Primary.

We know that you will be really eager to see inside the school and in your classrooms. Let’s go on a virtual tour of the school with Mrs Wilson! Click on the link below:

Here is a link to Mrs Simpson reading the story of The Tiger Who Came to Tea by Judith Kerr

Did you enjoy that story boys and girls?

What was your favourite part?

Did you like the beautiful illustrations (pictures) in the book? Did the pictures help you follow the story?

Just like last week, we have some lovely activities for you to try. We’re sure you’ll be super workers. Here are your tasks:

· We would like you to try to put the story in the correct order using the sequence cards. Ask your adult to help you. You’ll need to think about what happened at each stage of the story. Can you remember all the things the tiger ate in the correct order? Transition story sequencing cards

· Sing along to the Tiger Who Came to Tea song on Youtube – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXn6nYfxcio  You’ll soon start to remember the words in the chorus. It’s so catchy!

· Colour Sophie and the tiger in the colouring picture. Try to colour inside the lines and make your picture very neat. Remember you can post your photos on Twitter. We would love to see your hard work. Transition colouring in page

· Why not pretend you have a tiger coming for tea in your house? What would you give a very hungry tiger to eat and drink? With your adult, make a shopping list for the tea party. You could draw pictures of the types of food you would need to buy. Don’t forget a huge tin of Tiger Food! Transition shopping list

Good luck superstars! We can’t wait to see your fabulous work.
