Welcome to our class blog.\u00a0 We have once again been very busy in Primary 4.\u00a0 Mrs Doherty is soooo lucky to have such a hardworking and marvellous class of learners.\u00a0 Here’s what we have been up to recently…<\/p>\n
Maths<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We have been working on Subtraction and we are now learning how to exchange with this.\u00a0 We know how to exchange 1 ten for ten units. This kind of work involves us writing our sums out formally one underneath the other.\u00a0 We have been using the diennes material to help us visualise this.<\/p>\n In our other maths topic we have been learning all about angles.\u00a0 We are now confident in finding angles smaller and greater than a right angle.<\/p>\n First Holy Communion<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Last week we started learning all\u00a0 about our First Communion and we got home our booklets. We were all excited about this. We have learned all about the story of creation and how God created the world in 7 days.\u00a0 We know how important we all are and how unique we are too.\u00a0 We learned all about the story of Passover and the importance of the lamb at Passover but also Jesus as our lamb.<\/p>\n Zoolab<\/strong><\/p>\n We absolutely loved Zoolab.\u00a0 It was the highlight of our week. Our session was about Rainforest Discovery.\u00a0 Our instructor was Owen and he brought along some intersting animals for us to see and hold.\u00a0 There was a snake, a snail, a rat and a tarantula.<\/p>\n Topic<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We have our very own Titanic ship in our class.\u00a0 We know about the different classes of passengers aboard the Titanic.\u00a0 The Captain is called Edward J. Smith.\u00a0 The big Luxury liner company is called the White Star liner.\u00a0 Finally we learned all about the building of the Titanic and the different sections on the ship!\u00a0 We now have our own creative writing files that we just love using!\u00a0 Did you know the Titanic is as big as 3 football pitches!<\/p>\n Language<\/strong><\/p>\n We are now onto our next block of writing which is RECOUNT.\u00a0 We are learning to retell events.\u00a0 We have also been learning about the importance of Adverbs – we know that adverbs describe verbs.\u00a0 For example…<\/p>\n Health & Well Being<\/strong><\/p>\n We are continuing to learn and develop life saving skills.\u00a0 So far in Hear Start we have learned about assessing a casualty and getting help, Recovery position and more recently what to do if someone is seriously bleeding.\u00a0 We know that an ordinary day can become an extraordinary day when we put these life saving skills into practise.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n STAR PUPIL:<\/strong> Well done to Abi-Rose!
