{"id":13524,"date":"2019-03-15T15:38:16","date_gmt":"2019-03-15T15:38:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/holycrossblog\/?p=13524"},"modified":"2019-03-15T15:38:16","modified_gmt":"2019-03-15T15:38:16","slug":"mary-queen-of-scots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/holycrossblog\/2019\/03\/15\/mary-queen-of-scots\/","title":{"rendered":"Mary Queen of Scots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Topic : We will be investigating the life of Mary Queen of Scots and discovering how events in the past have shaped Scottish society.<\/p>\n<p>Maths : The children have been learning how to use their knowledge of multiplication and division to create a set of multiples and find common multiples between tables.\u00a0 They have been making &#8216;factor bugs&#8217; to help them understand factors and factor pairs.\u00a0 We have also been continuing to practise addition and subtraction with &#8216;carrying&#8217; and &#8216;borrowing&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Literacy : The children have been gaining reading skills by\u00a0 making notes and and organising them under suitable headings to create their own leaflets.\u00a0 We are learning to write detailed information reports about life in Tudor Times, using appropriate subheadings.<\/p>\n<p>Lent : Children have reflected on scriptures to show us the importance of friendship and forgiveness.\u00a0 We have been thinking of people in need and have been bringing in donations for our class SCIAF box. Children are encouraged to attend the Lenten weekday morning Mass at 8.15.<\/p>\n<p>Finally! We are all very excited about our Class Trip on Monday 18th to Dynamic Earth.
