A short but busy 2 days!\u00a0 Primary 4 have had a lovely February weekend and have enjoyed even more the 2 day working week. On Thursday we continued to develop their writing skills as they wrote some fabulous reports on John Logie Baird.\u00a0 We are learning to use sub headings and\u00a0using notes to create new texts.<\/p>\n
ROCKET CHALLENGE – STEM<\/strong><\/p>\n Firstly a huge thanks to all our mums and dads for helping us with our rockets.\u00a0 They were all amazing and all so very different.\u00a0 We had a fantastic time showing them off and an even better time launching them in the playground to see how far they would travel.\u00a0 Primary 4 had a little entertainment as Noah launched his rocket using a bicycle pump and a water bottle… yip you guessed it… the water exploded all over poor Mrs Doherty but it was laughs all round!<\/p>\n Health & Well Being – HEARTSTART<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We are really enjoying learning about Heartstart.\u00a0 Mrs Doherty taught us about how to assess a casualty and get help quickly.\u00a0 We know that these are real life skills that will help us if someone is in danger or needs urgent help. Some top tips…<\/p>\n We are really looking forward to next week when we learn about the recovery position!<\/p>\n P.E –\u00a0 ATHLETICS & GYMNASTICS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n This term we will be working on our Athletic and gymnastic skills and if time some dancing skills too!\u00a0 Keep checking our blog for some photos of us in action over the next few weeks. Mondays and Wednesdays are our days for gym… please help us to remember our gym kits<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n TOPIC – Scottish Inventors<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Our mini topic was Scottish inventors.\u00a0 We have already learned about some famous inventors like John Logie Baird (TV), Alexander Graham Bell (phone), Alexander Flemming (penicillin).\u00a0 In school we planned and designed our own inventions for the future.\u00a0 Next week we are hoping to make these inventions with some junk material.\u00a0 If you have any junk or loose parts at home please send them in.<\/p>\n PLAN, DO REVIEW – PLAY<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We absolutely love going to the new\u00a0playroom.\u00a0 Mrs Keith enjoyed helping us learn in the playroom.\u00a0 We talked about what we learn when we go there and what skills we are using and developing too.<\/p>\n STAR WRITERS;\u00a0 John Logie Baird Report<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Well done to our Star Writers: Eve, Aston, Gemma, Arianna, Chrysa, Hannah<\/p>\n STAR PUPIL<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Well done to our Star pupil this week: Francis!
