Welcome to our first primary 4 blog. It has been a fast week but we are all so happy that it is Friday!!! So what has been happening this week\u2026<\/p>\n
TOPIC<\/strong><\/p>\n Our new topic is the Rainforest. We will be finding out why the rainforest is important and we will be investigating living and non-living things through this topic too.<\/p>\n Melissa said \u201cI\u2019m really excited to learn more about the animals in each layer of the rainforest\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n LITERACY<\/strong><\/p>\n We are well underway with our class novel \u2018The Magic Carpet Slippers\u2019 by Dick King Smith. He is also our Author of this month. Mrs Doherty is helping us to understand the 6 important reading strategies.<\/p>\n Jakub \u2026 \u201cMetalinguistics helps me learn about new words\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n MATHS<\/strong><\/p>\n Lots of revision for our first few weeks. We have been using the number square to talk about number \u2018tricks\u2019 we already know! We have also revised our place value and we are getting better at reading and writing numbers to 100 and beyond.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n ART<\/strong><\/p>\n We have learned about the work of Kandinsky and experimenting with colour and shape to create abstract art.<\/p>\n Erin\u2026 \u201cI really liked mixing colours and making tints and shades\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n What we are looking forward to\u2026<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Aston is our\u00a0STAR PUPIL\u00a0this week.
