{"id":844,"date":"2016-01-07T21:01:37","date_gmt":"2016-01-07T21:01:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/holycrossblog\/?page_id=844"},"modified":"2020-12-13T22:01:36","modified_gmt":"2020-12-13T22:01:36","slug":"school-and-community-links","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/holycrossblog\/school-and-community-links\/","title":{"rendered":"School and Community Links"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The school is an integral part of the community and we encourage the children to realize that they are members of that community and have a duty towards it.<\/p>\n<p>Co-operation between school and community has always been of a very high standard and it is to be sincerely hoped that this will continue to flourish.\u00a0 It is the aim of Holy Cross Primary School to forge and maintain links with all those who help our children in any way; the health service, the dental service, the psychological service, the social work department and the police.<\/p>\n<p>The parish of Holy Cross is an important influence in the lives of our children and families.\u00a0 Father Sullivan is a regular visitor to our school, always eager to assist teachers with the spiritual development of our pupils.\u00a0 Regular meetings are held to discuss important religious events, such as First Holy Communion and Confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>We have very good links with local businesses including Croy Credit Union, Tesco Craigmarloch and North Lanarkshire Active Schools.<\/p>\n<p>Various other members of the community visit to explain and promote their function to the children.<\/p>\n<p>All these links are important in forming the character of the children and encouraging them to become a caring and active member of society<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The school is an integral part of the community and we encourage the children to realize that they are members of that community and have a duty towards it.
