However, you may exercise your parental\u00a0 right and apply to enrol your any in any<\/span><span style=\"color: #800000\"> school of your choice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\">\u00a0If you wish to enrol your child in Holy Cross\u00a0 please bring with you a copy of the child\u2019s<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000\"> Birth Certificate and evidence that you\u00a0 live within the school\u2019s catchment area.\u00a0Where appropriate, your child\u2019s Certificate\u00a0 of Baptism may also be produced at this stage.\u00a0Holy Cross Primary School offers an induction programme which usually consists of one meeting during the months of June and a further two meetings in September. Our induction programme aims to :<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000\">promote Holy Cross Primary as a centre of excellence<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000\">inform parents of the day to day running of the school<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000\">introduce parents to the Primary One programmes of study in all areas of the curriculum<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000\">allow parents the opportunity to handle and sample the various resources used to implement the programmes of study<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000\">involve and encourage parents to participate in the education of their children.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\">The Head Teacher of Holy Cross Primary will afford the teachers of the new primary one classes the opportunity to visit the local nursery school. In this way, the teachers will get to know the new pupils and so make transition for them much easier and smoother.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000\">Primary 1 Enrolment for New School Year<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"ace-leading-paragraph\">\n<div>\n<p>Parents\/carers of children who turn five between 1 March 2023 and 29 February 2024 should register during the week starting Monday 16 January to Friday 20 January 2023 for starting primary 1 in August 2023.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-content-paragraphs\">\n<div class=\"ace-paragraph-basic-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"ace-field-body\">\n<p>Parents\/carers should take their children to the appropriate local primary school during that week at the times(s) designated by the school concerned.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Please note \u2013 you must produce a\u00a0birth certificate(s) and a current council tax notice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can learn more about\u00a0<a title=\"Choosing a school for your child\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mygov.scot\/register-your-child-for-a-school\/\">choosing a school for your child<\/a>\u00a0on the Scottish Government website.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to\u00a0<a title=\"contact your primary school\" href=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/directories\/schools\/all?title=&amp;field_directory_tags_target_id=4&amp;lat=&amp;lng=&amp;geolocation_geocoder_address=&amp;field_directory_geolocation_proximity=All\">contact your local primary school<\/a>\u00a0regarding registration you can email or call them directly.<\/p>\n<p>Parents\/carers who want\u00a0to defer entry for their child to primary school and apply for an additional year of part-time pre-school should register their child for school as described above and complete the deferred entry application form.
