In June 2018, we were awarded Silver as a Unicef Rights Respecting School. This came after a lot of hard work from the children and staff at the school and we are very proud of our achievement.<\/p>\n As a school community we worked together to promote the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This helped us to celebrate learning and teaching which encouraged respect for ourselves and others.\u00a0 We are on our journey towards Gold.\u00a0 Through our journey to Gold we are further developing ways of involving all of our pupils regardless of age, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, disability and nationality.<\/p>\n We embed Children’s Rights across the school and it underpins every facet of school life. The use of the ABCDE of Rights are at the centre of Holy Cross’ strategy to deepen the whole school’s understanding of the rights.<\/p>\n The use of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is used to support all members of our school, where our children respect and embrace difference and participate in school life.<\/p>\n Some of the ways we illustrate this is through embedding the articles into our policies, School Development Plan, our positive behaviour approaches, curriculum and planning.\u00a0 We want our children to become leaders of the school, steering the school towards excellence, whilst developing citizenship and knowledge related to Gospel values, examples of this are through the UNCRC Steering Group, Whole School life, Faith development and a variety of pupil voice groups.<\/p>\n Please see the information leaflet below<\/p>\n Meet the Rights Respecting Ambassadors for Holy Cross<\/strong><\/p>\n **** LATEST CAMPAIGN VIDEO****<\/span><\/p>\n Our Steering Group have campaigned to promote our cafeteria in order to combat climate change.
