Investing time at the beginning of term in prayer and through the development of class charters in all classes ensures everyone has a clear understanding of their contribution to our caring ethos at Holy Cross.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300\">Star Pupils, Cool Class prize and a House Point System all recognise and celebrate children\u2019s individual and collective positive behaviour and achievement. Teachers praise and encourage children in class regularly and recognise their achievements with feedback on work and behaviour across all areas of learning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300\">At Holy Cross all adults understand:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u00a0All behaviour is communication<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u00a0Children are learning how to behave in ways that reflect love, justice and caring for themselves and others as they grow and mature.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u00a0Actively listening without judgement supports relationships.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u00a0Children respond to consistent respectful behaviour displayed by adults.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u00a0We all make mistakes and need to learn from them in a safe, respectful environment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u00a0Repairing and rebuilding relationships is an important skill for children to learn.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u00a0Our practise is supported by our knowledge of Attachment, Child development and our increasing awareness Adverse Childhood Experiences(ACES)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u00a0Every child in our care deserves the very best possible experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300\">\u2018Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.\u2019 John 13:34-35<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300\">Class charters<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300\">As a Catholic and Rights Respecting school, all classes develop a Class Charter; a set of standards and expectations which will support a happy, productive learning environment for all. This is based on gospel values and articles from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The staff and children co create this then sign up to adhere to the charter across the school year.
