The award centres around making sure that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is known and understood by all students.\u00a0 We promote rights to ensure that our children and young people have everything they need\u00a0to be \u00a0happy, healthy and safe.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"UNICEF\" href=\"http:\/\/www.unicef.org.uk\/rights-respecting-schools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.unicef.org.uk\/rights-respecting-schools\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/greenhillprimaryschool\/files\/2015\/05\/image_gallery.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-533\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/greenhillprimaryschool\/files\/2015\/05\/image_gallery-300x92.gif\" alt=\"image_gallery\" width=\"300\" height=\"92\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Greenhill&#8217;s Aspirations as a <span style=\"color: #00ccff;text-decoration: underline\">R<\/span>ights <span style=\"color: #00ccff;text-decoration: underline\">R<\/span>especting <span style=\"color: #00ccff;text-decoration: underline\">S<\/span>chool<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>At Greenhill Primary School we are on a journey to be recognised as a Rights Respecting School.\u00a0 We are currently working towards Level\u00a02 of the Rights Respecting School Award and we have been trying to putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of\u00a0our school\u2019s planning, policies, practice and ethos.<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/greenhillprimaryschool\/files\/2015\/05\/play.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-548 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/greenhillprimaryschool\/files\/2015\/05\/play-300x260.jpg\" alt=\"play\" width=\"300\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #00ccff;text-decoration: underline\">M<\/span>ake <span style=\"color: #00ccff;text-decoration: underline\">A<\/span> <span style=\"color: #00ccff;text-decoration: underline\">D<\/span>ifference Groups<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>Pupils\u2019 opinions and thoughts are sought, encouraged and respected in all aspects of the school\u2019s work.\u00a0 Pupil leadership is an integral part of the school\u2019s ethos.\u00a0 Children are given opportunities to lead aspects of school life through a range of MAD Groups\u00a0including: Global Citizenship, Outdoor Learning, Rights Respecting School Committee, Junior Road Safety Officers, Eco Committee, Health Committee and P7\/P1 Buddies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/greenhillprimaryschool\/files\/2015\/05\/2_11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-530\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/greenhillprimaryschool\/files\/2015\/05\/2_11-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"%202_1~1\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">How Can I Get Involved?<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>At Greenhill Primary School we have set up a Rights Respecting School Steering Group.\u00a0 This group is made up of pupils, staff, parents and members of our local community.\u00a0 We are responsible for taking the lead in promoting children&#8217;s rights throughout Greenhill Primary school.\u00a0 If you would be interested in joining our RRSA Steering Group, please get in touch with the school office.\u00a0 We would love your help!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; What is a Rights Respecting School Award?\u00a0 The Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) is all about making sure that our children and young people know and understand their rights as global citizens and respect the rights of others.
