Greenhill Primary School

Welcome to Primary 4

Speed Challenge

The children have been timing themselves in trying to improve their mental recall of multiplication and division facts.  This is an area where the children have identified as one of their targets that they want to improve.  The link below will show you an example of Tom Renwicks’ Numeracy Map and how we teach multiplication and division facts using a 100 square.

Multiples of 5

The spread sheet below can be printed and the children can practise timing themselves as they complete each column.

Scottish Hootenanny

Primary 4 have been learning all about Scots language and we have been looking at the meaning of certain Scottish words.  As part of the Scottish Hootenanny we have decided to sing a traditional Scottish song called ‘Jeely Piece Song’.  As part of their homework, the children will be asked to learn the song in order to perform it on stage.  The link below has an audio clip to help them.

We will also be singing ‘Flower of Scotland’.  The audio clip can be found below.

Song words for each of the songs have been sent home with the children to learn as part of their homework  Links to the song words can also be found below.

Wow!  What a wonderful assembly today by primary 4.  Thank you to all the parents who attended.  We hope you had as much fun as we did!  Here are a few photos taken today.

Children in Need

The children and staff at Greenhill primary had a fantastic time at our sponsored bounce and zumbathon.  All the money raised will go to Children in Need.  We were exhausted!

Stirling Castle Visit

Primary 4 went to Stirling Castle as part of our Medieval Scotland topic.  It was a fantastic day and even the bad weather didn’t spoil our day.  Have a look at our photos!
