Parents and Carers of children turning three before the end of February 2027 should apply for an Early Learning & Childcare Placement as soon as possible.
The government funding start dates are where a child’s third birthday falls on or between:
– 1 March and 31 August 2026 they will be eligible for funding from August 2026 (autumn term) occuring in that year.
– 1 September and 31 December 2026 they will be eligible for funding from January 2027 (spring term) following their birthday.
– 1 January and last day of February 2027 they will be eligible for funding from April 2027 (summer term) following their birthday.
The application form for 2026-27 is now available for completion. You can collect a paper copy from the main office, or print from the NLC website Early Learning and Childcare Applications | North Lanarkshire Council
You should return your completed application form by email, post or hand it in to your first choice of ELC provider by Friday, 28 November 2025.
