Some of our P5 children and their parents came along to the first Community Learning & Development Superhero session. This has been organised through our partnership working with Helen McKay from Community Learning & Development and Tracy-Ann Kidd from the NHS Health Improvement Team, Airdrie Locality.
During the session we thought about the good things about superheroes. Helen and Tracy-Ann were really impressed with some of the superpowers the children came up with.
The children could think of some great superhero names: Wolfman, Speedsilver, Stretchy Legs, Timer, Dash, Wonder Woman, Mr Muscle and Lilac. Some people have still to decide on a name and we look forward to hearing them next week. The children designed their superhero’s face with fruit which was great fun but the best bit was getting to eat it at the end. We made the face from fruit as we know that our superhero needs to eat fruit to be fit and healthy and to be able to carry out their good work.
Next week we will see the outfits the superheroes wear, we will think about what a superhero would eat for lunch and we will make a model of our superhero transport.
