Support Allowance (income related), universal credit, housing benefit or council tax rebate.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst in general terms it would not normally be the policy of the authority to exclude a pupil from school solely on the basis of his\/her dress, persistent refusal to respond to a reasonable dress code may be deemed to be a serious challenge to the head teacher\u2019s authority and to be detrimental to the wellbeing of the whole school community.\u00a0 In such circumstances a head teacher may justify the use of the school discipline procedure.<\/p>\n<p>The Council wishes to minimise claims arising from the loss of pupils\u2019 clothing and\/or personal belongings.\u00a0 Parents are asked to assist in this area by ensuring that valuable items and unnecessarily expensive items of clothing, are not brought to school.\u00a0 Parents should note that any claims submitted to cover the loss of such items are likely to be met only where the authority can be shown to have been negligent.<\/p>\n<p>Wearing a uniform is encouraged in Glencryan as a means to identifying with the school and as a proven foundation of good discipline.\u00a0 Further details will be found in the department sections and individual items may be purchased from the school.<\/p>\n<p>The table below demonstrates and example of the uniform colours for each department.
