Lorna Kane has been working with us since January 2 days a week as a school and nursery community learning and development worker. Recently it has been agreed that Lorna’s days will be increased and she will be in the school 3.5 days (Tues-Friday noon). She has been employed PEF budget and she will be providing opportunities for parents, carers and families to come together to support the children with their learning and emotional well-being. Lorna hopes to offer a number of family learning opportunities including BIG CHEF, LITTLE CHEF, DIGITAL INCLUSION sessions and also more focused programs of group work will be offered to parents, carers including SEASONS FOR GROWTH and SOLIHULL PARENTING PROGRAMME. She will also provide opportunities for some of our children to participate in programs such as HIGH 5 award and NORTH LANARKSHIRE CHALLENGE AWARD. In addition to this Lorna will offer some individual support and may on occasion home visit if required. If you would like to contact Lorna, please phone the school office.
Our children make regular visits to the local supermarket to look at Scottish produce available or fairtrade items.
