Head Teacher Blog<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/a>Dear Parent\/Carer<\/p>\n

I hope you are well.<\/p>\n

The end of this term is always bittersweet.\u00a0 Whilst it is never a bad thing to start a holiday, this term means that we bid goodbye to our S6 pupils.\u00a0 This year group have, across their six years in Greenfaulds, been a wonderful blend of individuality and collective positivity.\u00a0 This week through a range of activities (more of which is discussed below) we got the chance to wish them all the very best before their exams and their final days.<\/p>\n

As always, if you have any questions in relation\u00a0to the information contained within this blog\u00a0or any other school matter please do not hesitate to be in touch with the school.\u00a0\u00a0Moreover,\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0always delighted to share good news of pupil achievements outside of school\u00a0as\u00a0many\u00a0pupils are\u00a0participating\u00a0at an exceptionally\u00a0high level\u00a0in a range of activities.\u00a0\u00a0If your son\/daughter is involved in\u00a0something,\u00a0please do share this with me.<\/p>\n

Goodbye S6<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over the course of the week, we have taken the opportunity to say goodbye to all our S6 pupils.\u00a0 Wednesday took the form of year books, hoodies and shirt signing \u2013 a lovely opportunity to wish them all well individually.\u00a0 On Wednesday night our S6 Graduation was a fantastic night and a lovely opportunity to come together with families to wish all our S6 well before they begin their final exams and their first steps beyond school.\u00a0 Finally, on Thursday the whole school wished them well as they were pipped from the building at just after 12pm.\u00a0 My parting messages to the whole year group come (unsurprisingly) from Taylor Swift, \u201cNever be so clever, you forget to be kind.\u00a0 Never be so kind you forget to be clever.\u201d\u00a0 We wish every single one of them the very best in the future.<\/p>\n

S4\/5 Leavers<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we had the opportunity to say goodbye to our S6 leavers, I look forward in June to wishing our S4 and S5 leavers all the very best in their future endeavours.\u00a0 As an inclusive school, it is only right to mark their leaving in a similar way to the S6 leavers, and we will be in touch with families of our S4\/5 leavers with more information in May.<\/p>\n

The final push<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whilst the Easter Holidays are upon us, I appreciate for many of our Senior Pupils it will involve some rest and relaxation married with some intensive studying.\u00a0 To support all pupils in this, I was contacted this week about the E-sgoil Easter Supported Study.<\/p>\n

Registration for e-Sgoil’s 2026 Easter Study Support programme is now open.\u00a0 This Scottish Government funded provision is focussed on delivering equitable access to all Senior Phase learners and is completely free<\/u><\/strong>. Study Support comprises live, interactive webinars and are delivered online by experienced, GTCS registered teachers. Almost 60 different webinar subjects are on offer during the week of 6th-10th April, covering the most popular curricular areas as well as an extensive range of other subjects.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

4287 learners from 321 secondary schools across Scotland signed up for the Easter programme last year. Almost all learners surveyed rated the overall quality of their experience as \u2018excellent\u2019, with 98% claiming that the webinars had helped to increase their confidence and reduce their anxiety ahead of final exams.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n
