Primary 3/4 have been using the beautiful display at the front entrance to learn about German and Gaelic symbols. We know that ‘Wir sprechen Deutsch’ means ‘We speak German’ and ‘Tha Gàidhlig againn’ means ‘We speak Gaelic.’
Primary 3/4 pupils and Primary 5 pupils have been busy making cards to send to Condorrat Primary School. We wish our Gaelic partner school a happy Easter : A’ Chàisg sona!
Thank you very, very much!!! Mrs O’ Hara has been very busy making this beautiful display for the entrance to the school. Mrs O’ Hara took ideas from pupils who attended the Gaelic after school club and brought them to life with this masterpiece, completely made using recycled fabrics! The German and Gaelic phrases mean ‘We speak German.’ and’ We speak Gaelic.’ Many, many thanks again.
Last term, pupils from across the school entered the SCILT Mother Tongue Other Tongue competition. Pupils created wonderful poems in German. A huge congratulations to our pupils who were awarded two ‘Highly Commended’ awards. Both children performed their poems at ‘The Language Show’ at the SECC.
