North Lanarkshire’s Sumdog Contest begins on the 16th of November until the 22nd. Well done to Mrs Duncan’s class who are currently 56th in the competition. Remember 10 pupils from each class must log in at a time for results to qualify.

Let’s see how far we can climb up the leaderboard! Last year we achieved 1st place in Primary 6 and received a free spelling subscription!

Following the COOP’s support for our European Day of Languages celebration, store manager Maria from the Stepps branch of the COOP came to talk to Primary 4 and Primary 6 about Fairtrade. Maria has also visited Primary 5 to help with their Fairtrade topic last term. We look forward to developing our partnership with Stepps COOP.

Gartcosh Primary School now has a 2o’clock mindfulness bell. At 2o’clock the school bell rings everyday and the whole school has the opportunity to take a mindful moment. All classes have been offered a range of mindful practices they can consider. @youthmindful
