TERRIFIC TITANIC MODELS

Our first term in Primary 6 has been a very productive and busy term with many exciting learning opportunities.

We have thoroughly enjoyed learning about important people and past events through our Interdisciplinary Theme, the Titanic. As a homework challenge we designed our own Titanic themed models and I’m sure you will agree that they are certainly 1st class!

We are lucky enough to be travelling to Belfast to view first hand the Titanic Experience and explore the Titanic story through a range of interactive galleries  from the very site where the ship was launched! We will keep you posted about any additional updates through our class blog.

Mindfulness Meditation

Today we shared the acts of kindness which we have been conducting in secret to our mystery buddies. We all agreed that the several acts of kindness carried out over the week by our mindfulness mystery buddy made us feel really positive and appreciated. Next Mr McCann demonstrated some relaxation meditation exercises which we have found to  help alleviate any worries we may have.

Basketball

This week our focus in basketball has been to mark our opponents carefully and dribble the basketball on the move. We are now confident at using chest, bounce and overhead shots to pass the ball to our team members. Well done Primary Six.

JRSO News

Well done to all pupils in Primary 6 who prepared a speech for the JRSO elections. After a class vote, the pupils have appointed Iona as their Primary 6 JRSO representative.

Over the year our JRSOs will be working with our Road Safety Officer  to make everyone in our school more aware of the dangers on the road.

There will be lots of fun things for you to do such as competitions, displays and assemblies. You will have different themes to work on during the year, and we’ll try to keep in contact with what other    JRSOs are doing.
