We have been working with the computer application ‘Sumdog’ to reinforce and improve our mathematical knowledge and skills in Primary 6. This game based learning improves our mental calculations and motivates us to learn in a fun and stimulating way, targeted to each numeracy level that we are working on in the classroom. This week our class were delighted to be awarded a certificate for achieving the highest combined score within the North Lanarkshire’s Sumdog Competition.

Coding Club
Primary 6 have been fortunate enough to be working with Mr Duncan to develop our coding skills during weekly ICT lessons. This week we worked in pairs to program our very own talking robot!
First we had to decide on our robots personality and then add a suitable backdrop to suit our chatbot robots personality. Next we added a code to allow our chatbot robot to reply to our questions. We added several variables to program the chatbot to speak and answer depending on our responses. We had amazing fun when creating our interactive chatbot. Thank you Mr Duncan!
NLC Outdoor Learning Competition
Primary 6 have been busy designing a logo for the North Lanarkshire’s Outdoor Learning Competition. Schools were invited to design a logo or banner containing the letters OL to promote outdoor learning within the curriculum. Our class chose to design their own powerful patterns using stones from the sensory garden. I think you will agree that the final outcome for our entry is fantastic! Well done Primary 6!
