Primary 1 wrote Super Stories about the ‘Cheeky Seagulls’ in the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. Later, we spent valuable time conferencing. We read each others stories and gave feedback on what our partners had done well and what we need to improve on.
EVERYBODY did very well… but a Special well done to this week’s Star Writers!!
The Language Committee very kindly invited Primary 1 to a special Teddy Bears Picnic. We enjoyed lots of German tasty treats and listened to German songs. We all had our teddies there to join in the fun and we think they enjoyed the picnic too!
Primary 1 have found it really helpful using Rekenreks in class to strengthen our addition skills and practise our number bonds.
We have been using the Rekenreks to practise our number bonds. They have helped us learn our stories of six!
Lily – ” I have 6 on the top and zero on the bottom.”
Harry – “I know another way! 2 on the top and 4 on the bottom make 6.”
Jase – ” I counted 5 red and 1 white.”
Emily – “I made the twin! I had 5 white and 1 red.”
Robin – “I found a way! 3 and 3 more make six”
We are very lucky that Miss Donaldson is spending time with us in Primary 1. During topic time, she has been teaching us all about floating and sinking. We used our prediction skills to experiment with objects and record our findings.
