Hello,

Glad to be back for a new term in the toddler room.  A big welcome to our new children, returners and Lorraine who has joined us from the annexe.

The children have been showing an interest in playing with the dolls and acting out familiar experiences such as feeding, bathing and changing them. They have also enjoyed using their senses to explore real food, pretending to make dinner and using new skills such as chopping. The children have been developing their independence skills at snack time where they have been using tongs to select their food as well as pouring and spreading. We have noticed that the children are enjoying filling and emptying using different containers, we have provided opportunities around the nursery for the children to extend this schematic play. Through the 3 read approach, we have been looking at and talking about nursery rhymes.  We have also been exploring puppets in the song box as well as listening to songs and rhymes using musical instruements.
