The children have been very busy in all areas of the nursery, they have been developing their literacy skills through stories and rhymes.

Outdoors the children have been creating pictures of  the character Superworm and retelling the story in their own words through their pictures.

In the Story corner the children have been discussing who is their favorite character and why from The Gruffalo. They have presented their findings in a picture graph. They have also been developing their fine motor skills drawing and writing on the smartboard.

At the play dough table and messy area the children have been learning words which rhyme, they have been reading Laura’s star and singing Twinkle, Twinkle little star, creating sparkly stars with play dough and paint.

The children have tried porridge for snack, just like Goldilocks! They made a chart of who liked and disliked it.

At the writing table there has been lots going on! Children have been listening to the sounds of letters and words, they have been practicing writing their names and using finger gym exercise’s such as tweezers and buttons to develop fine motor skills. Invitations are being made to our upcoming parties and celebrations. Some children visited Park springs care home to drop an invitation in to the residents to come and hear us singing.

Again the children have been busy building and using their imagination to support their role play making castles and bridges and singing nursery rhymes.

Thank you to all who took part in our sponsored read a book a day, the sponsor money has started to come in already and we have had lots of lovely comments from the children and grown ups about the opportunity to get books home to share with each other. Thank you once again the monies raised will go towards our presents parties and celebrations at Christmas time.
