They will experience a wide range of topics some of which will be interdisciplinary and involve other subject areas.\u00a0\u00a0 Pupils will experience producing plays for performance which will include both acting skills and production skills.This broad general education provides an excellent foundation for you to move on to study for qualifications, at the right level for you, in the senior phase of secondary school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S1 topics<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tricks and Treats<br \/>\nOliver!<br \/>\nGroup devised pieces for performance<br \/>\nProduction skills- make up and simple sound<\/p>\n<p><strong>S2 topics<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nWorld War Day project in conjunction with Social Subjects<br \/>\nStory telling styles- Bugsy Malone<br \/>\nLove at the Railway station<br \/>\nProduction skills- props and costume<\/p>\n<p><strong>S3 topics<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nSpace<br \/>\nTitanic in conjunction with Social Subjects<br \/>\nHarry Potter<br \/>\nDeveloping production skills for performance.<br \/>\nChoice of show for performance to an audience including production skills and theatre arts.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Senior Phase<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>S4, S5 and S6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Drama provides opportunities for learners to develop creating and presenting skills. These courses focus on the development and use of a range of drama and production skills to create, rehearse and present drama. The courses are very practical and experiential. As learners develop practical skills, they will also develop knowledge and understanding of cultural and social influences on drama. Learners will consider cultural values, identities and ideological ideas which influence drama. Learners will analyse and evaluate how the use of self-expression, language, voice and movement can develop their ideas for drama.
