P4-7 Plan

Following extensive consultation with NLC over the last week, we have managed to agree a plan which will give P4-7 pupils some face to face teaching prior to what we hope will be a full return of P1-7 on the 15th March.

The plan is that all P4-7 pupils will have 1 day in school next week(w/b 1st March) followed by 2 consecutive days in school the following week (w/b 8th March). Class Teachers will message you directly regarding your child’s day(s).

The days may differ from our previous offer but we need to take into account total numbers of pupils and staff in the school building each day in order to conform with Government guidance.

Please contact the school if you have any questions regarding this plan.

Thanks,
Marie Clare

Parent Update

Following a meeting with ASN HTs yesterday I can confirm that as a result of Scottish Government guidance,P1-3 will attend full timefrom Monday 22nd Feb. Where this is good news for our Infant pupils it unfortunately impacts on our ability to continue to deliver the plan we had put in place for all pupils, particularly our P4-7s.

As the only ASN school to offer face to face teaching to all pupils since January we are aware how upsetting this will be for some children and families. I have discussed at length with Senior Education Managers, concerns around equity for ALL our children and their families at this time and the consequences of this decision on our P4-7 group.

We are in discussion with NLC about the possibility of trying to offer some face to face teaching for P4-7 from next week however this must be balanced against the total numbers in the building and the safety of all.

We look forward to welcoming P1-3 pupils on Monday and will be in touch with P4-7 families to discuss our plan moving forward.

Please contact the school if you wish to discuss any of the aboveinformation.

Best wishes and stay safe.

First Minister’s Statement

The FM’s statement yesterday regarding the return to school for certain pupil groups has caused considerable confusion within the ASN sector for families and staff alike.

The ASN Head Teachers including myself have a meeting scheduled with Derek Brown later tomorrow afternoon to discuss the implications for our schools and to confirm which pupils will attend from next week.

Our hope at this stage is that we will be able to continue some face to face teaching for ALL pupils from next week and will confirm exact details with you on Friday.

Sincere apologies for the distress this confusion is causing but it is completely out with our control.
