Room 12 and two pupils from Room 11 went to visit the Cocoabean chocolate factory at Braehead on Tuesday. The children in Room 12 have been studying Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Miss Coulter thought it would be a great way to end the topic.

All the staff and pupils of Firpark Primary School would like to wish a massive amount of good luck to our fabulous PE teacher, Miss McEwan. Miss McEwan is currently in Bologna in Italy representing Scotland in a Volleyball tournament.
We are so proud of her achievements in getting to the tournament and she’ll represent our school and the country with pride!
Good Luck!
Today at Firpark Primary School we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by staff and pupils donning odd and in most cases colourful and crazy socks! Thanks to all for taking part! It’s a very important awareness raising day and moreover a fun way to raise this awareness in school!
Dear Parent / Carer,
What a disrupted term we’ve had and it’s hard to believe that we’re only a couple of weeks from the Easter Holidays!! Some Annual Reviews were effected by the weather but will be rescheduled in the near future.
Inspite of the snow disruption our pupils have been working hard both in and out of the classroom. Everyone enjoyed the Sponsored Bounce which raised an amazing £1054.50 for school funds, thank you so much for your generous support. As part of our Easter Fundraising we joined with our Cathedral Friends in collecting for a local food bank, again thanks to you all for the generous food donations sent in.
Congratulations to Eve O’Neill (Rm.7) and Jose Luis Maza (Rm.10) who performed on stage at this year’s Ups & Downs Show! Well done also to Maddison Fallon (Rm.4) who donated some hair after a recent cut, to the Little Princess Trust children’s charity.
Several of our pupils are working with “Beats of Brazil” and some will perform next week in the Royal Concert Hall, a larger group hope to perform in the Civic Centre later in May.
Using some of our Pupil Equity Fund, the teaching staff and some pupil groups will be working this week with Tree of Knowledge and hope that you will join us for an hour or so on Thursday Night (15th March). Tree of Knowledge provide some excellent support and bring with them a wealth of experience which is shared in a fun and enjoyable way.
Work is underway on the latest playground improvements which include some new equipment for the Infant Playground, we hope to have this finished and ready for testing by Infant Classes prior to the holidays.
Events prior to the Easter Break include: Tree of Knowledge (Parents) 15th March, Tree of Knowledge (Pupils) 16th March, Crazy Hair Day (16th March) please bring £1 for SCIAF, Lots of Socks (Downs Syndrome Awareness) 21st March, Non Uniform Day (23rd March) please bring £1 for SCIAF, Easter Assembly (26th March) and also our Easter Egg Hunts which will take place during the last week of term. The Pupil Council will also be selling raffle tickets for Easter Eggs over the next two weeks, with all proceeds going to SCIAF.
Please continue to look out for letters and information texts over the coming weeks. The school will close at 2.30pm on Thursday 29th March and re-open at 8.55 am on Monday 16th April. We hope that all children and families enjoy the break and return ready to embark on another busy Summer Term.
Please feel free to contact me if you have anything at all which you wish to discuss and sincere thanks for your continued support.
Marie Clare Webster (Head Teacher)
Please enjoy watching Room 4’s fabulous Assembly on Friday about different modes of transport.
Please enjoy looking through some pictures taken in Room 7 before the snow fell last week!
Well done to Room 9 for preparing a fantastic Assembly on personal hygiene with Miss Scott and Mrs Brady. Our microphones weren’t working in the Assembly hall so we re-recorded it in their class a wee bit later on so we could hear them more clearly.
Enjoy!
