Although last week was extremely disruptive for everyone particularly pupils and parents, I hope we can now settle into a routine and look forward to the year ahead.
Annual Reviews are currently being arranged for pupils in P2-5, with P6&7 reviews happening later in the year. In order to ensure minimal disruption to pupil learning we are only able to offer one appointment as these reviews take place during the school day. However if you are unable to attend due to work or family commitments we will happily discuss any aspects of the report with you at a later date.
This term we have a number of events involving mixed class groups and the whole school. These will include the National Cross Country Competition, Sponsored Bounce, Chinese New Year Celebrations and World Book Day / Literacy Fun Day. Please look out for details of these events.
“Bags to School” blue bags have been distributed to all pupils and hopefully this will give you the opportunity to have a clear out as well as help us generate some funds for the school.
This week all classes are having an interactive HD BENQ board installed as part of our Pupil Equity Fund (PEF) spend. These are replacing the outdated SMART Boards and provide a significantly improved learning experience for all pupils. We look forward to demonstrating their capabilities to you over the coming year.
As ever, please feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss any aspect of your child’s learning or the wider school community.
It’s been another wonderful week at Firpark Primary School! Between Tuesday and Thursday this week all our classes were fitted with state of the art Interactive BenQ Boards to replace the Smartboard projectors. Our classes look fabulous and the children have been really benefiting from the lessons that can be done using them. Our Pupil Council were busy taking photos of their friends using the boards today!
It was also the MP Room’s assembly today. The class had worked hard with Mrs Bell, Mrs Taggart and Irene in class to prepare and everyone enjoyed it! Here is the PowerPoint that they used!

The same situation from previous days applies tomorrow (19.1.18). The school will be in touch early in the morning to advise whether we will be open or closed, due to the expected snow forecast tonight and tomorrow morning.
All ASN Bus Services cancelled tomorrow and some taxi services. A decision regarding opening and arrangements for tomorrow will be taken in the morning and will be communicated by text message, the website and our twitter page.
All ASN Buses and some ASN taxis will be cancelled again tomorrow (Tuesday 17.1.18) due to the snow that is forecast.
The school, at the minute, is expected to be open and you will be informed via text if anything changes. If you plan to bring your own child, please follow the same protocol as today and be prepared to pick them up if circumstances change throughout the day and also at home time.
You can keep up to speed on the website and the school twitter page. @FirparkPrimary
