It’s been a funny old week at Firpark Primary School. It seemed like we started the week in Winter and ended it in Spring. We had a very snowy day on Tuesday which meant that only a few of our pupils could make it in! For those that did, we had a fun action packed day learning, playing, cooking and keeping active.
On Thursday, David from ‘Basics Food Bank’ in North Lanarkshire came to collect a generous donation from the families of the children at Firpark. A big thanks from all the staff at Firpark as well as from all at Basics Food Bank.
Although we missed our cross country championship in Bellahouston on Tuesday due to the inclement weather, Mr Graham and Mr Forrest took a group of junior pupils to a North Lanarkshire Active Schools sports event in Cumbernauld on Thursday.
Have a super weekend, and stay tuned to the website next week for a whole host of exciting Easter activities planned for our last week of term.

The children really enjoyed the excellent Science Fun Day which was full of extremely well organised science activities run by the teaching and support staff. A big thanks to you all; the children loved it!
Also, for all Twitter users, or for parents and family members who are interested in joining Twitter, Firpark Primary are delighted to announce that we are now active on twitter, and can be found using the @FirparkPrimary handle. It will allow you to keep up to date with posts on our website as well as other updates about the exciting goings-on at Firpark Primary.
Today Room 9 performed their fantastic assembly on the Vikings which has been their topic in Term 3. Mr Cotter, Mrs Quinn and Mrs Davidson are very proud of Room 9 as I’m sure you will be too!
Today we celebrated world book day (a day late) and the children participated excellently. We had some great costumes and some great opportunities to read stories. We also had Miss Coulter, Mr Divers and Mrs Brady taking our running club on their first outing today! What a fit bunch of children and adults we have at Firpark. Mr Graham and Mrs Selkirk with Room 11 officially opened the Speedway Cafe for this term. What a super opening! Well done for all the organising, purchasing materials as well as serving the great snacks!
Also, all the staff and pupils at Firpark Primary would like to extend their thanks to our Parent Council for buying us in our new speakers for all of our classes. They are amazing and it means we can hear things a lot more clearly in class.
Miss Scott has joined us this week and will now be our teacher in Room 7! Welcome to Miss Scott, we are delighted to have you on board.
A big well done also to room 4 for their fabulous Assembly about transport! Watch it here:
A big thanks also to Mrs Sujith for donating this fabulous picture to the school. Mrs Sujith has offered for the painting to be auctioned off, the proceeds of which will go towards our school fund! Many thanks!
