Personal Professional Learning
Digital Glasgow 2023 Conference

I was fortunate enough to attend this amazing event and hear from some of the most brilliant minds in the world of digital technology. I also met up with like minded teachers looking to enhance computing science in schools and managed to share some insights and resources with the STACS team who were in attendance at their stall. From this conversation I managed to set up a meeting with my line manager and a STACS colleague to share our work to help support other local authorities across Scotland.
Looking back on this day I really learned a lot about the world of digital technology but also made me realise how vital digital education is to our young people. I am very proud to be a digital education advocate and will continue to ensure our young people have the skills they need to succeed.

Education Scotland Computing Science Conference 2023
This conference was one I was looking forward to for a while and could not wait to network and share ideas across local authorities. I got to play around with some amazing coding equipment and hear from some experts about the latest updates and what’s to come next.
The keynote speech form Ollie Bray was motivational and thought provoking. Looking back on this day, I believe there is still a lot of work to be done to ensure our young learners have a fully rounded education that has digital education high on the priority.
Coursera HTML and CSS

This year I have been working on creating a Computing Science Pathway for Third Level and some of my knowledge in this level was needing a retune. I decided to take a course on HTML and CSS which is a big part of the third level benchmarks for computing science.
I am still currently learning and enjoying the more advanced side of computing science. This will aid me in the future whilst delivering training on the pathway documents and gives me further confidence to present without not knowing the subject matter fully.
